Branden and I enjoyed time with our little man by taking him to Asheboro Zoo. We woke around 7:30am and got dressed and ready to go. We left home around 8:45, accompanied by Andy and his daughter Kaylin. We stopped for a quick breakfast and then we were off to the see the Elephants and Giraffe's (Kaylin's favorites). Before entering the zoo, we took pictures with the Elephants and managed to survive without being tampled on. We then arrived at the North American entrance. After standing in line for 20 minutes we were told that we had been standing in the wrong line. Apparently zoo members get special treatment and have there own single line. Who would have known?
Finally, we enter the zoo! The kids were really excited about seeing the animals, but Mommy, Daddy and Andy were exhausted and ready for some AC! After a long hot day of zoo animals, pushing a stroller for 500,000 miles and dealing all of the people stopping right in front of you.....it was TIME TO GO! Before leaving we stopped in the giftstore. Ian got a cute little stuffed frog (we call him Kermie) and Kaylin fell in love a giraffe (who doesn't have a name). Kaylin melted my heart when she wanted to spend her birthday money to get her big sister Gabby a blue dolphin. This was the sweetest thing ever!
Well, now that we are exhausted, hot, and ready to go we decide to take the shuttle from Africa back to the car in North America. Apparantely, everyone else had the same idea. We were passed by 2 shuttle's before loading, but we eventually get to ride in an un-conditioned shuttle.
Whew! we made it to the car, get the kids in the carseats and are ready to roll.
Can someone please tell me why everyone is staring at us????
A Flat Tire!! Are you serious??
Yes, we have a flat tire that has to be changed before we can go home.
Thirty minutes later, one child is asleep and the other is throwing a temper tantrum.
Can you guess which one it is? Yes, it's my Ian bug!
Ok, the tire is changed and we are on our way home.
Thank you Jesus!
