Dec 29, 2010

Our Christmas was wonderful this year. We continued with our normal routine of going to Grandma's on Christmas Eve and having Craig over on Christmas morning to join in the excitement of Ian opening his gifts. However, we spiced it up a little by having breakfast at The Hulin's on Christmas morning. The boys had fun playing video games while the women cooked breakfast. Grandma made milk gravy...and it was sooo yummy! We ha d a White Christmas, which was very beautiful. Ian played and ran in the snow with Uncle Zach, Daddy and I. We had a blast!
Now that the Christmas holiday is over, maybe I can get my house back in order.
This week has been a long week so far. We had a delay at work on Monday, so I had to come in on Tuesday (my day off) to make up time. I really wish I could have slept in, but I left work at 10:30 and had a nice lunch with my hubby at Olive Garden. After our meal, I took Branden to his dentist appointment which was no where near being fun. He had his top teeth removed and a denture put on top. He was and is in a lot of pain. I hope he feels better soon!

The Most Wonderful Time of the year!

A lot happened over the weekend!
Friday night Branden, Ian and I accompanied Susan, Billy, Zach, Berkley, Brayden, and Jennifer to dinner at Golden Corral to celebrate Susan and Billy's marriage. That's right...they finally did it! After dinner, Branden, Ian, Zach and I went to Randolph Mall to do Christmas shopping and then we headed home for some R & R.
Saturday morning we awoke early (Thanks to Ian) and had breakfast at Susan and Billy's. Then we all went to Brayden's basketball game....which they kicked butt at! Way to go Brayden! After the game, Susan and I went to the mall and the boys went shopping for trucks. Our shopping trip was cut short when Branden needed my opinion on a truck and my intimidation skills for the sales person. Needless to say, we bought a new truck and got a very good deal! My hubby was happy for the rest of the day! Sunday afternoon we had dinner at Pioneer with Branden's softball team (Start-N-Over/our extended family), for a very good cause. We adopted a family in need, and provided Christmas for them this year. The family that we adopted consisted of a single mother of three children. The mother has had cancer for the second time and is currently in the hospital. The children are living with a caregiver who has children of her own and was not sure how she would provide for her own kids and her "extended family" this Christmas. The team stepped up to the plate once again!

Merry Christmas!

Dec 16, 2010

It's my favorite time of the year. It's almost Christmas! Only 8 more days until Santa makes his stop in Thomasville. Ian is going to be so excited! I cannot wait to see the sparkle in his eyes on Christmas morning. This time of year is busy, but I am loving every minute of it. I had the opportunity to go shopping with my Mother-in-law this past Monday. It was a blast! However, Branden and I still have a few more presents to buy. Ian and I wrapped gifts lastnight, while Daddy was at work. Well, maybe I should say that I wrapped gifts, but Ian participated by drawing a picture on each box before handing them to me to wrap. We had our Christmas pictures taken on Tuesday in front of Pamela, Chuck, and Alec's Christmas tree. I was impressed with the outcome eventhough, Ian was more interested in playing video games with Alec than taking a picture with Mommy & Daddy. Imagine that! lol

Sigh of Relief!

The first semester of Nursing School has come and gone. It was a long, tough road but I made it. I passed the first semester with an average of 85.3 and I am looking forward to the next couple of weeks (Christmas Break). I intend on spending time most of my spare time with my hubby and Ian bug. I have missed them this past four months! There is a lot happening in our family this month. Susan and Billy are getting married! After 16 years of putting up with one another, they have finally decided to tie the knot. I am really happy for them! My Ian Bug is potty training at daycare and we are starting at home too! Branden is having some dental work after the Christmas holiday and then it is back to school in January. January brings a new year, and a new semester of Nursing school...but until then, I am going to enjoy every minute with the ones that I love. Merry Christmas!

All About Ian!

Ian has officially given up the paci!
That's right...Sunday October 31st was his last night with his paci.
We gave it to the baby at daycare...or that's what he thinks anyway!

I am so proud of him!
Today was his 2 year check up at the doctor; he did really good!
He stepped on the scales all by himself, let the nurse measure him and prick his finger. He was okay with it, once he saw the band aid with a "cat" on it.
Once we got into the room, he was uneasy but followed directions.
I am not real sure what was going on...but I liked it!

He played with the Doctor's instruments and let her listen to his chest, check his ears and finally give him shots. As she proceed with the shots, he said "please stop" and then told me "it pinched". He only cried for a minute, and then advised me that he was ready to "go home".

I can't believe how big he has gotten.
Where has the last 2 years gone?

What a Week!

I really don't know where to start, This has been a crazy week!
I had been experiencing abdominal pain, so I made an appointment with the doctor.
It was antoher flare up! I was instructed to have STAT CT's with and without contrast to determine if surgery was needed. Thankfully, it was not....but I still had the pleasure of a script of PREDNISONE. 40mg every day..by the end of next week I will be one giant puffy marshmellow. Not to mention, that my mother was admitted to Baptist hospital on Tuesday, for extensive scans after her stroke. During the scans the doc noticed a blockage in her main artery and she had surgery yesterday to remove some of the built up plaque. She came through the surgery fine, but was moved to ICU. She did okay through the night and may get to go home later today. Whew, that was a close one. I do not know what I would do if something happened to her.

Now the FUN begins! We are going to Brayden's Halloween party tonight. (This is Ian's first Halloween party) I may be partial, but I know that he will be the cutest lil Pirate there! Ahoy, Mate!

It's clinical for me in the am, so bed time will come early. Clinical is a short day, so hopefully I will be able to join the boys for the BBQ Festival.

Sunday we are having Ian's 2nd Birthday party! Lots of junk food, cake, presents and children....This should be FUN!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY IAN...WE LOVE YOU!

So much to do...and so little time!

It has been awhile since my last post, due to lack of time in my busy life!
Alot has happened over the past month.
I am proud to say that I was accepted into the Nursing program at MCC and this week is the 4th week of class. I go to Troy 2 nights a week and all day on Saturday which has really cut into Branden's ball schedule, but you gotta do what you gotta do!
Branden and I have recently made the decision to let his friend, Andy move in with us for a few months, until he can find somewhere else to stay. I think this was a good move, because it helps us with finances and also helps Branden with Ian and house work while I am at college. However, Branden and I don't really have a lot of alone time...if you know what I mean. This past weekend, we celebrated Nathan's 11th birthday! I can't believe that he is already 11 years old...he makes me feel older than 29. Speaking of growing up....We got Ian a toddler bed! He slept in it the first night, but it has not worked well since then. He wants to play with toys in the dark, instead of being a BIG BOY and going to bed! lol
Branden went to Aiken, SC last weekend for a ball tourney and they WON! He was given a brand new bat and also the opportunity to play in Indiana in October. He was so proud! Thank heaven for Nana, who watched Ian so Mommy could go to class and Daddy could play ball! Just when everything seemed to be going good, my oven went out. So it looks like Mickey D's the rest of this week. On top of that, I think the air conditioner went out lastnight! However, I am not letting it get me down. It can be fixed.

BTW- I have my first test tonight on 9 Chapters.
I am nervous, but know that I can do it!

HOLDING AT 29!

It's been a while since my last post, so enjoy.

Tursday July 29th was my 29th Birthday!
Since I am regreting the fact that I will be 30 next year, I have decided to hold at 29. So there will be NO MORE BIRTHDAYS FOR ME! lol
It was a pretty good day. Branden and Ian gave me a Birthday card before I left for work and we made Enchiladas for supper. Craig joined us and Branden put my *NEW* ceiling fan up for me while Ian and I went to Grandma's. My gifts for the day included a new fan for the living room, a card with money, hand soap and lotion gift set and money from my mom. My Grandmother is also cooking for me on Wednesday 8/4 because she said that "She doesn't have time this week". I love elderly people...they just say whatever they want! She cracks me up!
Friday July 30th was Pamela's 29th Birthday so I decided to serenade her with my Birthday song. BTW- It was horrible, but she thought is was cute so it will be okay.
After work, Pamela and I went to Wee Runs and then headed to Outback for a to go order. Finally, I was home. I had dinner and headed to bed.
Saturday was an good day! Ian and I re-arranged his room. He was really cute imitating me pushing the dresser and grunting too! Daddy played ball all day...so it was just me and Ian, but Nana called and she said "She was coming to get him". Nana picked him up around 6:45 and I headed to get my nails done. Then I was off to Grandma's. Branden called and said that he was on his way home at 7:45 but didn't show up til 11:30. I LOVE it when he comes home DRUNK AS HELL and also love it when it takes him four hours to get home from Cary (because they don't know where they are). I think he will be driving or NOT playing in the future! This is BS!
Sunday- we picked Ian up from Nana's and that was about it. This is what I love about Sunday....Lazy days!

What's a girl to do?

Today is Wednesday and it has been one crappy week so far!
Monday was okay with the exception of bill collectors calling all day long.
It seems like money is very scarce lately. However, it could be because we have spent almost $800 on Branden's truck in the last couple of weeks. I honestly don't know what to do anymore! It seems like debt never disappears. I work all week and it is all gone within 15 mins. I spent all day Tuesday at the college registering for fall classes. MCC is the most unorganized college I think I have ever seen, but it is also the only one that I could get into, so I won't complain to much. Today was a good day at work, but it was very busy. Sabrina was out of the office, which meant double work for me! Once I returned home, I found out that my son wore a dress at daycare. Yes, that's right...he put on a dress from the dress up center. I have blackmail for future use.BTW-They said that he was a handsome boy and a very pretty girl! Anyway, tomorrow is my birthday and I am not looking forward to it.
I will be 29 years old, and the sad part is that I still don't know where I'm going.

Jul 20, 2010

Tricky Tuesday!

I left work at 4pm, got Ian from daycare and went to the bank.
The bottom fell out just as Ian and I were walking in the door at home.
We played baseball and he watched his movie while I prepared dinner.
We had potato soup and grilled cheese...It was yummy.
Billy called after dinner and said that his blood pressure was 83/50.
He was told to go to the ER, but he is just as stubborn as Branden and I.
YOU CAN'T TELL THAT MAN ANYTHING!LOL

Susan and Zach got home and she called to let us know that his BP was still low, but he is outside doing some things and now hears a ringing in his ears. How hard is it to go to the doctor, when you don't feel right??? I know that I should practice what I preach, but he is diabetic and has a defibulator. We asked Susan if she would watch Ian on the 31st, so we can make plans for my birthday...but I really dont think she is going to ask for a weekend off. There goes my plans for a night out with friends. Oh well, Maybe Grandma and Dingding will help out again!

To beat it all, Berkley just called and said that Jennifer was doing a class at the YMCA when she passed out, hit her head and was taken to the ER. What is it with everyone? I am really tired of stupidity. You cannot take weight loss pills, give yourself shots, exercise and NOT eat!!! YOU WILL PASS OUT!!!! You would think a nurse would know that.

What else could go wrong???? Maybe I should'nt have asked that question!
UGH- I am having a bad day...I think I will go to bed now that I have blown off some steam and made a complete donkey of myself! lol
For all of my followers...I know that you know how I feel!

Marvelous Monday!

Yesterday was Monday...I think that's all I need to say!
Work went well, but I made it at exactly 8am.(I have got to get up earlier)
The power went off around 12:30, so I left and went back to the Health Dept to have my Tb skin test read. It was a negative! I called the office and Sabrina gave me good news. She said "If the power is not on by 2pm, we are leaving". I called back at ten mins til 2 and the power had just come back on. I had some really bad thoughts because I was so looking forward to an afternoon nap!lol
I went back to work til 5pm, then headed home and made dinner. Grandma and Geraldine joined us but the Chicken Pie sucked! Apparently, I used the wrong kind of flour. NOTE: Self rising flour is needed for Chicken Pie
Anyways, Branden gave Ian a bath and we tucked him in.
I watched THE CLIENT LIST on Lifetime and it was GREAT!
I just love Jennifer! :O)

I need sleep please!

Well, Last week was a long week!
I had my usual work schedule and made an appearance at the County Health Dept to get my TB skin test Friday afternoon. Shortly after work on Friday, I was scrambling to get food ready for our cookout that was planned by my hubby and his friend John. We had several people over including Misty, John, Jaylin, Berkley, Jenn, Brayden, Craig, Jaylin and Kayden. After supper, I stuck to my schedule by giving our son a bath and tucking him into bed. I was exhausted, but still entertained while Branden and John sat outside and drank GOD only knows how many beers. It was almost 2am before I got in the bed, but I enjoyed talking to Misty.

Saturday, Branden was up bright and early for another game day. Ian woke up right after he left, so we got up and ate a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios and played a little. We were still tired so we took a short nap and slept til 10. (I enjoyed every minute of it). We took a bath and headed to Grandma's for a cookout in Franklinville. Carolee (Grandma's sister) was 87 years old. Ian had a blast running up and down the wheelchair ramp, and another little boy turned on the roto scooter and ran over a plate of bananna pudding and almost ran over a little girl before it was stopped. It was only 2pm and a HECK of a day.

On the way home, it rained so hard that I could not see 2 feet in front of me! Needless to say....we parked in a parking lot for 20 mins waiting on the storm to pass. Branden's games were cancelled, and he was on his way home too!

Later that night, Branden and Ian were playing in his room. Ian was jumping up and down and jumped right into the corner of the dresser. He gashed his head open and Branden started freaking out. I checked him over, cleaned it up and realized that it was not deep enough for stitches. Thank you Jesus!
Ian stayed with Grandma and DingDing (Geraldine) for a couple of hours while we had dinner with April, Chad and Dave for Chad's Brithday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOYFRIEND!
After dinner we headed to Grandma's and found Ian fast asleep on her lap...He was so tired. We took our little man home and put him to bed. April, Chad and Dave stopped by and stayed for a little while, but after that it was lights out for me!

Sunday was okay, Branden let me sleep til 12:50. Once I was up, I headed for the shower. Branden left to go play basketball with the boys and Ian and I went to Grandma's. We made steak, potatoes, green beans and salad for dinner. After dinner we headed home, for our usual routine. Night Night Sweet Boy!
I laid down, watched Army Wives and hated the thought of work on Monday.

Jul 12, 2010

It's been a while!

I have been very busy, so it has been a while since my last post.
In the last couple of weeks, a lot has happened. My High School friend, Talia Leonard Oxendine was laid to rest. May her family and children find forgiveness in their hearts and remember the good times that they shared with her. Branden and I reunited with old friends, Misty and John who have a precious little girl of their own. We also shared the 4th of July holiday with friends Andy, his daughter Kaylin, Steve and Alicia. Just this weekend we took a trip to Myrtle Beach, for Branden's softball tourney which was his first weekend back in the game. There were no broken bones, so I think we did okay! However, checking into the hotel or not checking into the hotel was a nightmare! We had been in a car for several hours with 2 cranky kids who were just ready to get some pool time, and I had to argue with the hotel manager.

Finally, we were checked in and by the kiddie pool.
Ian and Nathan had a wonderful time and I enjoyed watching them.
Oh....to be a kid again!

Branden played ball all day Saturday, so the kids and I took a trip to Build A Bear, where I spent $90. Who knew that 2 stuffed doggies would cost that much? We went back to the hotel and played in the pool and splash park, then headed upstairs to get ready for an afternoon at Family Kingdom. Ian and Nathan rode rides and Nathan got a tatoo. Yeah, that right....he got some new ink! (as he called it). We played several of the games which Nathan was very good at. I think he won a prize everytime. After all of this, we headed to Mickey D's for some food. Ian ate all of his fries on the way back to the hotel...so he must have been hungry. It started to rain, and Branden's team lost so we headed upstairs to the bowling alley and arcade. Whew! Sunday morning....I was ready to come home! I think I need a vacation from vacation, but atleast the kids had FUN! :O)

Jun 22, 2010

He's a BIG BOY!

Today is Tuesday, only the 2nd day of the week!
I woke up this morning with a tickle in my throat and my ears hurting.
BTW- Branden and Ian are getting sick too!
I think we need meds to get rid of this mess :(

Ian slept til 7:20 this morning, so I had to wake him up.
He was not a happy camper, he really wanted to sleep a little longer. He also did not want to change into his clothes for daycare. However, he got over it and started to play before his Daddy was ready to go. My little man is getting so big. Branden called me this morning and said "Ian walked into daycare, into his class, sat down in the floor and started playing with the other kids". Wow! where have the past 19 months gone? Is he really not a baby anymore?

Today was a good day a work. I got some GREAT news from MCC! Turns out that I have been accepted into the LPN Program, which makes me very happy! Classes start in August and I can't wait.

Monday

Well,yesterday was definately Monday!
I did not want to get out of bed and to beat it all...I think I am getting sick!
I went to work and worked until 5pm.
When I picked Ian up from daycare, he was sitting in the floor with a book.
My little man loves to read books!
We gathered his pictures and headed home.
Ian had a brownie and milk for snack
Daddy was just in time! Daddy came home and spent a little time with Ian before he had his afternoon nap. I decided to cook supper. I made Hamburger Helper, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob and peas. Uncle Craig joined us and then it was playtime. Ian and Daddy played outside while I cleaned up the kitchen. They came in and Ian splashed in the tub a little while, got his pj's on and then we watched his favorite show. Where has the day gone? It was bedtime for Ian.He waved bye bye to the Backyardigans and headed to his room. He pushed in his movie and reached his arms out ready for bed. He watched a little TV and he was out like a light! For some reason, my husband thinks he will be able to play in a tourney at Mytle Beach on 7/9/10, so I spent the rest of my night looking for a hotel to ease his mind. I honestly do not think he will be able to play, but I can handle a beach trip! After all of that, I was exhausted....off to bed I went.
Night Night :O)

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY BRANDEN!
Today was a very busy day for all of us. Branden got up bright and early and went to Hinkle to trim the hedges for Craig. Ian and I got up a little later and headed to Hardees for breakfast. We ordered our food and took Daddy a large sweet tea. Then we were on our way to Grandma Liz's house to eat our breakfast with her. A little while later, we went to the grocery store and started lunch for Daddy. We made his favortite meal for Father's Day. He was surprised! After eating, we went home and Ian gave Branden his card with included a $25 giftcard to Home Depot. Ian was really excited about passing out gifts, so he also decided to give him the things that he made for his daddy at daycare. He placed each item in Branden's lap for him to view. Once Branden looked at the pictures, he laid them on the couch. However, Ian put them back in Branden's lap for him to view again! He was sooo cute! Ian also told him daddy "Happy Father's Day" or atleast something that sounded like it!

Look at all of this stuff!

Saturday-Here we go again!
We were up bright and early, after Sabrina called to say "I am turning on your road, are you up?" Whose idea was this yard sale anyway? lol
We got EVERYTHING set up and then it was SALE, SALE SALE!
We made a total of $380.00 which made my day!
We also made a donation to Goodwill b/c that stuff was not coming back in my house!
Today was a good day....all we need now is REST!

Friday was the first day of the yardsale and I was running on 3 hours of sleep! Branden and Zach helped me get the tables set up and helped to move the stuff outside. Ian slept til 9:30, so I decided to keep him at home with me. He had a blast playing with all of the toys he never played with....until they were in the yardsale and splashing around in his pool!
Overall, today was a good day! I made over $100.00 at the yardsale and got to spend time with the family. I loved my day off :O)

Thursday was my last day of work for the week!
Once I left there was a long list of things to do.
I picked up Ian from daycare, went to walmart, went by Hinkle Street, and picked up supper before returning home. Branden was busy too! He mowed both Hinkle and our yard, he also got tables and racks from Diane's for the yard sale.

After all of that, we still had our normal routine of playtime, bathtime, pajama time and THE BACKYARDIGANS!

However, Tonight was a little different, Zach stayed the night with us to help me in the morning. Throughout the night, Ian must have had some bad dreams! He woke several times and would not go back to sleep. Finally, I got up and sat with him in the living room, finally at 3am I put him back in his crib and turned on his movie- he fell fast asleep!

What happened to the clock?

Today is Wednesday, June 16th and the slowest day ever!
I can remember looking at the clock a million times today.
At one point in time, I though it was 2pm....but it was actually 11:36.
What is the world is going on?

Finally, the clock struck 5 and I was outta there!
I was happy to go home to my hubby and little boy :O)
Tonight was a busy night for us.
Ian and I went to McDonalds while Branden showered.
Branden and Ian went to Brayden's game, but not before picking up Uncle Craig!
Surprise Guys! No one was at the field.
Apparantely, Burkley had given them the wrong date.
The game is acutally tomorrow night.

While the boys were away....Mommy DID NOT play!
I was busy pricing yard sale items for Friday and Saturday.

When the boys returned, I gave Ian a bath, got him in his PJ's, and tucked him into bed.
Now, that that's over....time to sit down and have some popcorn with my hubby.
A little TV time and then off to bed....I am exhausted.
Good Night!

Just one more!

Tuesday was a stressful day for me!
I went to work and took 1/2 day of vacation, so I could attend the LPN Meeting.
I left work a little later than I should have and then was stuck in traffic on 109.
This did not look good, considering I had to be in Troy by 1pm.
Well, I made it to the college (on 2 wheels) just in time!
I filled out paperwork and waited for my trial schedule. Unfortunately, I did not have one because I am on the alternate list (#1 on the list). This sucks!
After speaking with the LPN Instructor, I learned that I could have a spot in the day class, but this is NO GOOD! I have to work for a living :O(
After taking a few deep breaths and begging for a spot in the hybrid class, she said that she would try to move some people around b/c I was the only person on the alternate list to attend all mandatory meetings. I am crossing my fingers and toes on this one!

After leaving the college, I picked up my Ian bug and we headed home.
I prepared dinner and waited on Branden to come home.
Ian, Branden, Uncle Craig and I had BBQ Chicken, corn, mac & cheese and stove top which was very yummy! After dinner, it was time for a bath, and pajamas.
Ian did not want to go to bed....so he put up a fight, but Mommy and Daddy WON!

I went to bed wondering if I will be accepted into the LPN program.
I don't like putting my life in someone else's hands! Why does someone else get to determine my fate? My queston to MCC is "Don't you have room for just one more?"

I did What?

Monday, June 14th was an exhausting day for Ian and I.
Daddy and I went to work and Ian went to daycare.
When we returned home, Ian and I both laid down for a short nap and slept a little longer than planned. We both slept through dinner, bath time, pajama time and THE BACKYARDIGANS.
That's right....We slept until 6:15 Tuesday Morning.
Daddy (Branden) must have been bored out of his mind...What in the world did he do without Mommy and Ian aggravating him? My bets are on.....watched Baseball! lol

Well, I guess there is only one way to say it. What a day, What a day!

Jun 9, 2010

Another Day Another Dollar!

Sunday=Oh, no!
It's Sunday and I feel like I haven't accomplished anything this weekend!
My house is clean...with the EXCEPTION of my kitchen.
We are using the kitchen as the storage area for the yard sale stuff...which is driving me BONKERS! Yeah, I know I guess I am a little anal and OCD, but that's me!
Anyways...we slept til 10am again today. I am kind of liking this :O)
We got up, had our showers and then were off to Grandma's for lunch.
Loved the Meatloaf, potaotes, mac & cheese, green beans and cherry dump cake! Thanks Granny! After eating, Mom and Nathan came by for a little while and then it was back to gathering yard sale stuff and cleaning. Ian, Daddy and I played a little and then it was pajama time and time for The Backyardigans! We tucked Ian in and then it was time for my show...I love Army Wives! Show's over and now time to set the clock.
Do I really have to go to work tomorrow?

Smile It's Saturday!
Well, Branden and I got to sleep in today! I couldn't believe that Ian slept until 10am.
Once we were up, we decided to have breakfast at Denny's. Apparantley, everyone else had the same idea! That place was packed and seriously unorganized! After breakfast, most of the day was spent by gathering stuff for the yard sale next weekend and doing the usual stuff around the house. On top of that, we went to Wally world and was easily distracted by all of the wackos in T-ville! Do these people not look in the mirror before leaving home?

FRIDAY=Time by the pool!
Today is Friday and I am only working til 11am.
I was a short day at work, but I am glad it's over!
On my way home and off to the pool with Steffie ;O)
We relaxed by the pool for a few hours and then picked Ian up from daycare....Back to pool we went! Ian bug enjoyed the sun and the water. Daddy was off work and it was time to go home. We had dinner plans with Burk and Jenn. They were cooking us dinner! However, Branden and I were the ones that ended up cooking. How does that work?lol
At least we got to spend time with family! The boys hung out and the girls gossiped inside....Imagine that!

Thursday
Well today is the day that Branden has a follow up appt for his finger....I hope all goes well!
It's good news from the doc, but he has another follow up in a couple of weeks!

Wednesday=Whoo Hoo!
Only 2 more days til Friday :O)
I had some bad news today...from the bank! NO GOOD!
Why is it....When you think things are starting to turn around, something else happens to throw a monkey wrench into your plans???
I have 2 options...I can stress about it or I can make a Margarita!
I prefer to use this quote "When life gives you limes, make Margarita's"
The work day is over and I really don't feel like cooking- so I called Mom. She made pork chops, tatortot casserole and mac & cheese. We went to eat!
However, when I was there I had to work on her computer and show her how to send an email....but atleast it's working and she is HAPPY!
Time to go home to be with my 2 favorite guys!
Once I arrived Branden had already given Ian a bath...Thanks Hunny!
So, it was playtime for me! Ian and I played baseball, folded clothes and then watched his favortie show! I think I will buy him a whole DVD set of The Backyardigans, since they are his favorite! Ok- Its Night Night time...Love you Ian, Mommy and Daddy will be here in the morning when you wake up! Sleep tight!
Whew...time for me to take a HOT bath, relax and try to get my mind to slow down.
A little TV and then off to dreamland

Tuesday=Wishing it was Friday!
Wow! This week has been a nightmare :(
Work was still pretty hectic, not to mention I am surrounded by some real DA's!
Oh, Lord please let me get through this day! Believe it or not.....I SURVIVED!
Once I got to daycare......My baby's smile and hugs made it all better!
I LOVE YOU IAN....YOU ARE MY LIFE AND REASON FOR EVERYTHING!
Well it was Hot Dogs for supper tonight. Mom made homemade slaw and she and Nathan
joined us for dinner. Ian loves his (Nat) or Nathan. When they arrived Ian ran to him with hugs and wanted him to play baseball with him and push him on his four wheeler. BTW- Uncle Craig came to pick up his to-go order (3 Hot dogs wrapped with double aluminum foil). He thinks I am a little OCD! What you think?
Bath time for Ian, then pajamas and THE BACKYARDIGANS and coloring time!
Sweet Dream for Ian!
Branden and I snuggled while watching "America's Got Talent". I love little moment like these!
After all, "It's the little things in Life, that make it all worthwhile".
On that note, I would like to say CONGRATULATIONS to Brett Kennedy for Graduating from Trinity High School tonight! Everyone is SO proud of YOU! Knowing that you can make your dreams come true...gives me HOPE in making mine come true too!

It's Monday again!
Unfortunately, I am not a Monday or morning person :(
Back to work today with lots to do....including fixing EVERYONE else's mistakes!
I realize that I am one of the lucky one's b/c I have a job....but some days I really want to give up and got to college full time. If only I was rich! lol
Finally it was Five o'clock and time to get my baby. Once I arrived at daycare, I was greeted with hugs and kisses! This really made my day! :O)
Ian and I stopped by Hinkle to see daddy (he was mowing the lawn) and then stopped at Uncle Craig's to invite him to dinner. Finally, we were on our way home to make Spaghetti.
I prepared dinner and Ian thought it was really funny! He banged on some pots and pans and pretended to cook "just like Mommy".
BTW- I didn't think Ian would eat spaghetti, so I made him corndogs and greenbeans. However, I learned that he LOVED it and ate most of my plate! SURPRISE!
After Dinner, it was bath time. Branden gave him a bath and got him ready for bed. Everyone knows what came next.....The Backyardigans, of course! At the End of the show, Ian told them bye bye and night night and we tucked him in. (Branden and I always do this together, and I personally think that is special)
Branden and I were exhausted and I had a little friend to vist me, so we were off to bed with no hanky panky! lol
Good Night, Love you!

Sunday=Lots of sleep for Ian

It's Sunday!
Branden and I slept in late today. Ooops....Sorry Nana!
We were awakened at 11am by a phone call from Nana, saying "I will be taking the girls home soon. What time are you coming to get Ian?"

Branden left the house to pick up Ian, and I headed to the shower.
When Branden got to Nana's, Pawpaw and Ian were reading a book.
Pawpaw told Ian, "I think I hear your daddy", and all Branden heard was the sound of little feet running across the floor. He was greeted with a GREAT BIG hug and a kiss from his little man!

Once the boys returned home, I got lots of hugs and kisses!
We played a little and then we left home and headed for the grocery store.
BTW-My child is just like his Daddy. If there is food around...he will eat it!
Ian had to have a brownie b/c he saw me put them in the cart.

Whew....I am glad that is over! Once we returned home, it was nap time for Ian.
He watched his new movie (Monsters Inc) and fell fast asleep!

While Ian was sleeping, Mommy prepared dinner.
Roast with potatoes, carrots and onions which had to cook for 3 hours.
Around 5pm, Uncle Craig had dinner with us and then it was bathtime for Ian.
After splashing in the tub and pajama time, Ian watched BASEBALL with Daddy and then headed to back to bed. I think the girls wore him out this weekend......He is EXHAUSTED!

Branden and I shared a bowl of popcorn and then it was time for Army Wives!
I headed to the bedroom for my show and the hubby stayed in the LR to watch more BASEBALL! Gotta Love it!
Gheez......I wonder who Ian gets his "Love for the game" from?
I think it could it be his Daddy!

Shows over and Lights Out!

Great deals, Sunshine and Birthday wishes!

Saturday, 6/5 started really early. Mom and I went to yard sales around 7am and we found some really good deals! Gymboree, Children's Place and Gap clothes for Ian= $1 each......That is a GREAT price. Not to mention, I bought him his first pair of Jordan's (His daddy's favorite shoes, which I think are BUTT ugly), but if it makes them happy....it makes Mommy happy!

Later that day we took Ian to Uncle Scottie's to swim. We were joined by Andy and Kaylin. We had a good time, but the kids had a BLAST sliding down the slide into the pool and jumping from the deck. My Ian bug stood between the ladder (on the deck) and continuously said "jump, jump, jump". I guess he wanted to make sure he said it over and over so, we would be prepared to catch him!

Pool time was over and it was time for Ian to go to Nana's. Branden took Ian to Nana's while I stayed at home and got ready for the evening. When Branden was leaving Nana's, Ian followed him into the kitchen and said "Daddy, no!" when Branden opened the door to leave. He said that it broke his heart. :(

Once Branden came back home we got ready and headed to Winston-Salem.
We met April, Chad, Bre, Brandon, Dave and Amanda at Texas Roadhouse for dinner and then headed to Johnny & June's for April's 31st birthday....I mean 21st.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY APRIL!
Even though there was some DRAMA with Brandon and Bre, Branden and I still had a good time! We both realized that we are very lucky...and we are SO glad that our relationship is NOT full of DRAMA! I honestly don't know how some people do it! BTW- My legs are killing me from breaking it down on the dance floor. We won't be doing that again for a really long time!

Oh, how I love 4 day work weeks!

Feeling Friday?
Today, is Friday and I am really feeling it!
It was only a 4 day work week, but I am so glad that it is over.
To start the day off- I was a couple of minutes late to work (3 to be exact). I think I was stuck behind every school bus in the whole entire Nation! I guess I should've gotten up a little sooner :O) Today was very slow at work...I started to count my fingers and toes just to make sure that they were still there. Once the clock hit 5......I was outta there!
I picked up my Ian bug and then went to Contours and Colours (where Branden was getting his hair cut). Then we headed home and laid Ian down for a nap. It was Jerry's Hotdogs for dinner and then I headed to Old Navy with Mom. I bought Ian size 2T clothes, which made me realize that "my little boy is growing up". Is it time for another one? My hubby says YES! :p

Thursday=Pay day!
Whew...today is payday, I am soooo exicted to pay another bill (sarcasm)!

Wenesday at Work= Webinar Wednesday!
Today was just like any other day at work, meaning it was HECTIC and BUSY for ME!!! On top of all of that, apparantely I am the go to girl for everything! Sabrina and I participated in a Webinar for our new "INFOR Document Management System"...How exciting was that! lol
However, the girls and I did get a kick out of it b/c for some unknown reason- my title on the webinar was Customer Service Manager. On a Serious note....... I do not BS enough for that title!
Due to the webinar, I only took a 30 minute lunch which also gave the the opportunity to leave at 4:30 instead of 5 o'clock! Thank you Jesus..I couldn't have stayed another minute.
I had my eyebrows waxed and then called the hubby to see what was for dinner.
Mommy and Daddy had tacos and Ian had "chicky nuggies".

Note to self: Milk and tacos do not go well together!

Well, it's back to work for me today!
Today is Tuesday, June 1st and it was really hard for me to get up after the long and relaxing weekend. Today was a very busy day at work, so I was outta there at quitting time! I picked Ian up from daycare and then we were off to the grocery store. It's Manwich for dinner at my house tonight! :O) After dinner we had our usual routine of bath, pajamas, cartoons, story time and bed.

May 31, 2010

2 years and counting!

Today, is May 31, 2010.
The calendar is marked as our two year anniversary!
I honestly cannot believe that we have been married for 2 years...time flies when you are having fun! Wow, as I look back on my life....I can reflect on and relate my life to one bible verse.

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope". In my heart, it is my son and my husband, that give me hope, strength and will power to move on into an uncertain future!

Branden had to work today, but Ian and I were at home in obvervance of Memorial Day.
Ian and I played, watched cartoons, vistied with Grandma Liz. Today was a good day! Ian was overwhelmed in looking for ways of pushing Mommy's buttons..... just to see what he could get away with! I wonder who he gets that from??? lol
When it was time for Branden to come home, we opened the front door and waited for him to arrive. Ian was so happy when his truck pulled into the drive way. We went out to meet him, and I was surprised too! Branden came home with 2 flowers and a card.
Happy Anniversary to me!
It was kind of cute b/c he said....I wasn't trying to be cheap.
2 flowers=2 years together.........How sweet!
I also gave Branden the card that I got for him.

We ordered Ruby Tuesday since we had a coupon BOGO. I just love these kinds of deals :O)
We had dinner which included Ian stuffing potatoes up his nose!
Bath time and pajamas soon after
Night Night Ian!

Finally, Mommy and Daddy had a chance to have a little time together.
Unfortunately, Branden had found some notes from his deceased mother that were hard for him to read. Her story was heartbreaking. Once we consumed all of the info, we sat down and watched a little tv and goofed off!

BTW-My husband thought it would be really funny to point the remote at me and say "Hunny, I'm not sure what is wrong with the remote, but mute isn't working". Seriously.....He knows me better than that! I never shut up :O)

Today, was overall a WONDERFUL day!

Wow! What a week :O)

This past week has been crazy!

5/30/10
Sunday, was okay! I slept til 8:15 believe it or not! Then we headed to Grandma's for some Milk gravy, bacon, eggs and toast. Then home to lay around some more. Daddy got Ian from Nana's while Mommy went to the store and made Cheesecake. Later, we went back to G-ma's for Chicken n Dumplins, corn, cabbage and corn bread. Ian was really fussy, so he laid down for a nap. Mommy and Daddy kind of did their own things, washed the car/truck, drank a little beer, had a fight and then made up! LOL
5/29/10
Saturday, was a day for Mommy and Daddy. Nana decided to keep Ian on Saturday night so Mommy and Daddy could have atleast one night alone for their Anniversary. Thanks Nana!
After dropping Ian off with Nana, we headed to Greensboro. Olive Garden here we come! Oh, how I love the smell of Italian food :O) Dinner was delicious, but Mommy was exhausted. Can someone please tell me why parents always want to sleep when the baby is away? Yep, that's right, I fell asleep as 6:15pm and slept all night long! My hubby did like 5 loads of laundry while I was off in sleepyland. I guess was bored out of his mind!

5/28/10
Friday, was what I consider a partial day of relaxation! I worked 7am-11am and then headed down the highway in hopes that the sun would stay above the clouds. Mom and I laid out by the pool until 2:15 and then headed to pick up my little man. When we turned into the parking lot at Kid City, Ian's class was on the playground. Can you guess where he was? He was riding on the "John Deere Tractor" and grinning at a little red head! I don't know what it is about red heads, but he loves them! Then it was Mickey D's and back to the pool. Nathan and Tim joined us and we all had a blast. Nathan loved the sliding board and thought it was the best thing since "sliced apple pie" and Ian had a fun time trying to decide if he was going to "jump, jump" from the deck into the pool and into Mommy's arms. Well, The FUN was over. We headed home to wait for Daddy. However, Ian was so tired that he fell asleep four minutes down the road. Oh, how I love quite time!

5/27/10
Thursday, was Thursday- That just about all I can recall.

May 26, 2010

Happy Hump Day!

Today is Wednesday....better known as HUMP DAY!

~My day started early again today, I had to be at work at 7am.
~Work was okay, but I was in and out of meetings all day.
~I met with one of HPFI's largest customers today...I think it went pretty well!
~The girls in Customer Service showed a little leg for NEOCON...Thanks for the pictures Tom.
~I picked my Ian Bug up from daycare and he had a note that said:
"These pacifiers were hiding in Ian's cubby, but since he doesn't need them anymore...you can take them home". That's right! My Ian bug does not have his paci anymore! Yesterday 5/25/10 was the first day that he went without it.....ALL DAY! I am soooo proud of him.......He is turning into a big boy :O)
~Ian and I stopped by Hinkle to see Daddy and then took a little trip to Uncle Craig's while Daddy was mowing the lawn. (Ian did not like Teddy, Craig's dog)
~Mommy and Ian went home and prepared dinner, loaded the dishes into the dishwasher, folded laundry and played a little baseball too!
~I want to know why my child thinks EVERYTHING is all about BASEBALL!
~Bath time for little man, then The Backyardigans and The Wonder Pets.
We decided to let him stay up a little longer tonight.
~Ouch! Why do I continue to get cramps in my feet?
Tonight I learned that I should drink a teaspoon of vinegar each day to eliminate cramps. Thanks for this info Grandma! BTW- Thanks for the box of cheesecake too, I am sure it will be great for snack day tomorrow at work.

~Thought of the day-
Slow down, down dance so fast! In other words, take a look around and enjoy the things that you have in your life. Don't dwell on the past or take life for granted. You should be thankful for what you have and remember that "It is the little things in life that make it all worthwhile"

Little kisses and hugs from my little man are all I need to make my day!
I have been blessed with a wonderful little boy. Mommy loves you Ian :O)

Night Night!

The MOMENT I've been waiting for!

Today is Tuesday; the day that Dear John comes out on Demand!
~This is the moment that I have been waiting for! I know it's kind of silly but, I don't get to watch a movie in the theater very often. I am really looking forward to tonight. I cannot wait to put on my pj's, lay in bed and watch Dear John (Channing Tatum is easy on the eyes!)
~I started my day today earlier than most. (Up at 6am and at work by 7am)
~Work was kind of slow today, which was fine with me....I needed a break anyway.
~Left work at 2pm to take my Ian bug back to the doctor...He is still pulling at his ears, but they should be better by now!
~Ian was not happy about the Doctor's appt, he screamed from the moment we entered the room, until it was time to go! Once he was back in my arms, he decided to give the doctor a high five. What is up with that?
~BTW- His ears have cleared up, now it's just teething that makes him so fussy!
~Ian and I visited Grandma and Geraldine, Daddy came later.
~Mickey D's for dinner and then bath time.
~Cartoons and bed time.

~Ok, Ok.....Time to watch my movie! Whoo Hoo!

Update:
The movie was an awesome love story, but I really didn't like the way it ended!
Who loves someone like that and then just walks away?

May 24, 2010

Don't sweat the small stuff!

Monday-
~This morning we awoke and got ready for work and got Ian ready for daycare.
~When Branden stepped outside, he had a flat tire!
~I simply took Ian to daycare, and Branden caught a ride with a co-worker.
~2 Corinthians 4:17-18
" For our present troubles are quite small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us an immeasurably great glory that will last forever! So we don't look at the troubles we can see right now; rather, we look forward to what we have not yet seen. For the troubles we see will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever".
~Had an interesting day at work today, picked Ian up from Daycare and headed home!
~2 tires later- Branden's truck is back in business, but my checkbook has a headache.
~I am praying that I will WIN the Lottery! lol
~I enjoyed time with my Little Man after his bath!
~We played, sang songs (ABC's and If you're happy and you know it...Clap your hands) and we watched The Backyardigans (Ian's favorite show)
~8:30= Ian's bedtime (He went down without a fight...he was so tired)
~I had to make a run to Walgreens....Got milk?
~Finally home for the night!
~ I believe that Forrest Gump was right when he said "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are gonna get".
~On another note, I have learned that it is your life...so you should live it to the fullest and without regret!

You are my Sunshine!

Sunday-
~Ian let us sleep in until about 9am
~We had breakfast and went to the grocery store
~Played BASEBALL....of course!
~I Made a NEW dish for lunch (Broccoli and Chicken Casserole)
Yummy, Yummy to Mommy, Daddy and Ian's Tummy!
~We splashed in the pool at Uncle Scottie's with Nana and Zach. (It was a little Chilly)
~We made it home and out of the car, just before the rain started. Daddy and Ian rushed inside, but I stood there for a few minutes, taking it all in. Immediately, I thought of something my friend had said to me, she said "Life is not about surviving the storm, it's about learning to dance in the rain". I am lucky to have someone like her as a friend....I love you Steffie!
~I have learned that there are times in everyone's life when they just want to give up, but through inspiration and faith they keep on going. Through personal experiences over the past 2 weeks, I have come to the conclusion that you do things you have to do, and you also do things that you want to do, from the kindness of your heart. Remember, that you get back what you put in!
~Enchillada's for supper again....Gotta Love leftovers
~Bath time for Little Ian
~The Backyardigans and Bed time!
~Branden and I had a conversation tonight about how lucky we really are! We have been through some rough times over the past 6 months, but in the end we realize that we have been truly blessed. We have our health, a beautiful little boy, a roof over our head, clothes on our back and food in the fridge, and most importantly we have the love of one another and the love of our GOD! What more could we ask for?

May 22, 2010

Sleepy Saturday!

Today is Saturday and my WONDERFUL Mother-In-Law's Birthday!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUSAN!

~Woke up around 8am and went to Nana's for breakfast.

Whew.....That was a close one :O(

The day at work was fine, with the exception of my wisdom tooth hurting...I am in pain and need to have it extracted ASAP! One question though, will I lose my wisdom without that tooth? Why do they call it a wisdom tooth? Makes no sense to me!

May 16, 2010

What I love about Sunday!

Today is Sunday....a day to be thankful for the people in our lives!

This morning, I awoke to my son singing his ABC's.
What a beautiful sound that was!
I hate to brag, but he is the cutest, smartest and most loveable person in the world!
(Just like his Mommy)

Well, Ian was up and out of bed, so my Mommy duties began.
We started the morning with a diaper change, cereal, and cartoons (Max and Ruby).
Then, we called Grandma Liz (hoping for some gravy), but that didn't work out so well.
Her response was......Hardees has gravy! (LOL...Gotta love Grandma)

Approx. 30 mins later, Daddy got up and Ian ran to him for hugs and kisses!
Daddy and Ian took a short trip to Uncle Craig's, giving Mom a few minutes of peace. I knew it was too good to be true when Ian brought home a "southern noise maker" (20oz. coke bottle filled with rocks) Thanks Craig!

The boys came back and my TV time was officially over. It's BASEBALL from here on out!

Around 1pm, Ian went to his Maw-Maw's while Mommy and Daddy grabbed a bite to eat and ran some errands. A couple of hours later, we picked Ian up from Maw-Maw and Na Na (Nathan) to learn that he helped them plant tomato seeds. What an adventure that was for my Ian bug! He was so excited that he had his own shovel and rake.

On the way home, Ian had a meltdown. It was definately nap time! After Ian had his nappy nap, we had corndogs for dinner and then bath time. We watched Blues Clues for awhile, then off to bed.

Good Night and Sweet Dreams!

:O)

Lions and Tigers and Bears....Oh My!

Saturday, May 15th was an interesting day!

Branden and I enjoyed time with our little man by taking him to Asheboro Zoo. We woke around 7:30am and got dressed and ready to go. We left home around 8:45, accompanied by Andy and his daughter Kaylin. We stopped for a quick breakfast and then we were off to the see the Elephants and Giraffe's (Kaylin's favorites). Before entering the zoo, we took pictures with the Elephants and managed to survive without being tampled on. We then arrived at the North American entrance. After standing in line for 20 minutes we were told that we had been standing in the wrong line. Apparently zoo members get special treatment and have there own single line. Who would have known?

Finally, we enter the zoo! The kids were really excited about seeing the animals, but Mommy, Daddy and Andy were exhausted and ready for some AC! After a long hot day of zoo animals, pushing a stroller for 500,000 miles and dealing all of the people stopping right in front of you.....it was TIME TO GO! Before leaving we stopped in the giftstore. Ian got a cute little stuffed frog (we call him Kermie) and Kaylin fell in love a giraffe (who doesn't have a name). Kaylin melted my heart when she wanted to spend her birthday money to get her big sister Gabby a blue dolphin. This was the sweetest thing ever!

Well, now that we are exhausted, hot, and ready to go we decide to take the shuttle from Africa back to the car in North America. Apparantely, everyone else had the same idea. We were passed by 2 shuttle's before loading, but we eventually get to ride in an un-conditioned shuttle.

Whew! we made it to the car, get the kids in the carseats and are ready to roll.
Can someone please tell me why everyone is staring at us????
A Flat Tire!! Are you serious??
Yes, we have a flat tire that has to be changed before we can go home.
Thirty minutes later, one child is asleep and the other is throwing a temper tantrum.
Can you guess which one it is? Yes, it's my Ian bug!

Ok, the tire is changed and we are on our way home.
Thank you Jesus!
